A traditional, real ale pub, The Mermaid is lively and welcoming, located only a minute from the town centre. There's a pleasant rear patio garden, and a customer car park.
The Mermaid is often featured in the Good Beer Guide and is recognised by CAMRA - regular ales include Adnams, Everards Tiger and ever-changing guest ales from all over the country, a must for any real ale fan - look out for regular Nethergate ales and the excellent Tring, Oakham and Bateman guests, amongst others.
For sports fanatics the venue hosts regular TV matches so you can catch all your games.
The Mermaid is a traditional managed Public House offering a comfortable interior, video games machine, darts, digital jukebox, and a good range of well kept real ales.
Food served Monday - Saturday, noon - 3pm and 5pm - 7pm.
